At Mugs, we believe that coffee is our vehicle to serve and grow our community. We have thrived to create a culture in our community that encourages social interaction and the exchange of social capital. We feel coffee shops may be one of the last remaining daytime, open forum, social hubs in most communities. We welcome and encourage any and all people to our business.

Living Ink Technologies
Living Ink is reinventing one of the world’s oldest and most expensive liquids: ink. You might not guess it, but ink goes for around $5,500 a gallon and is not exactly environmentally friendly to produce. Two scientists from Colorado State University have figured out a way to make cheap and environmentally friendly ink from algae. The company recently completed a successful Kickstarter, where they raised almost 400 percent of their goal.

How do you know that your business is solving the right problems in the right way? Sure you’ve got a great idea and you’re failing fast and watching your analytics, but those are reactive solutions. What if you could be proactive? What if you could find the right problem to solve for your customers out of the gate?
User Experience is a branch of design that tries to answer this question. UX Designers use a variety of research techniques from a variety of disciplines including cognitive psychology and good ol’ fashioned marketing to find the right problem to solve and design the right solution. Their secret? Mostly it comes down to watching and talking to people.
This sounds pretty easy, but so is playing a drum – you just the head with a stick, right? Yet it’s easy to tell a drummer who knows what they’re doing apart from a newbie who just picked up a stick. Take your business beyond banging on things with sticks – spend and evening and learn the basics of rhythm and flow, or in the case of building products proactively with UX insight and design.
In this one night crash course you’ll get a baptism by fire into how UX Design works and how you could start using it to proactively design better products. You’ll leave with knowledge about how UX research works, how to implement different UX research methods in your business. While UX starts with research, we’ll also dive into how UX Design works and what makes it different from plain graphic or web design, and then how research and design work into standard development processes like Agile. You’ll walk away with just enough knowledge to be dangerous.
You’ll Learn How To:

The characters of the tales range from humble peasants in the mountains of Colombia and women in Ethiopia, to groundbreaking agricultural entrepreneurs in Costa Rica pushing the limits on crafting beans which yield the smoothest, most flavorful base product.
