After a brief career as an Aerospace Engineer, Ken attended graduate school in Ocean Engineering. Reluctantly leaving the beautiful beaches and blue waters of the Florida east coast, he fully expected to see tumbleweeds rolling through the streets of Houston, Texas, his new home.
Happily finding a beautiful modern international city, Ken embarked on a rewarding 40-year career in international offshore oil and gas. His companies designed, built and installed offshore oil and gas platforms in water depths of over 8,000 feet and in some of the more inhospitable areas of the world. He built two companies that were sold to Norwegian and Dutch international engineering and construction companies and remained in the position of CEO during the transition periods.
During his career in oil and gas he also started several companies involved in entertainment, hospitality, solar energy, cogeneration and innovative food products
As a CEO, COO or VP of a major business unit, Ken was always “hands-on” involved in marketing and sales, and during the last five years of his career he held positions in Business Development for major international corporations. His most recent position was as Executive Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer for a $600 million per year private equity owned company involved in offshore and onshore construction services and technical products.
Ken moved to Longmont in late 2015 and started Successful Sales Solutions LLC. His company provides sales and marketing coaching and training to CEO’s and business owners. Ken’s experience in startups and company operations allows him to relate to his clients, because he has walked in their shoes.
